Traditional Surrogacy

Connecticut Surrogacy Attorney

At Worldwide Surrogacy Specialists, LLC., in Fairfield, Connecticut, our surrogacy attorneys draft traditional surrogacy contracts as well as other reproductive donation contracts such as gestational surrogacy contracts and egg donation contracts. We also help Intended Parents obtain prebirth orders that set out the rights and obligations of the Intended Parents and the surrogate. We meet with Intended Parents and explain the surrogacy laws in the state of Connecticut. For legal assistance and advice regarding a traditional surrogacy contract, contact our law firm for a consultation.

Traditional Surrogacy

There are two types of surrogacy: traditional and gestational. In gestational surrogacy, in vitro fertilization is used to transfer another woman's fertilized egg, or embryo, in the surrogate's uterus. Traditional surrogate motherhood involves fertilize the surrogate's own egg via artificial insemination. In traditional surrogacy, unlike in gestational surrogacy, the surrogate mother is also the biological and genetic mother.

Traditional Surrogacy Contracts

At Worldwide Surrogacy, our lawyers will draft contracts and agreements with the legal rights, obligations, and intentions of the parties clearly laid out. We draft traditional surrogacy contracts to address and avoid disputes and dilemmas between the surrogate and the Intended Parents, including disputes and dilemmas that may arise when the surrogate attempts to refuse to give the child to the Intended Parents.

Who Are the Legal Parents?

It is imperative to have a well-drafted and complete surrogacy contract to protect and establish the Intended Parents' legal rights and the clear and specific intentions of the parties. We draft surrogacy contracts that identify the Intended Mother, the Intended Father, the surrogate mother, the surrogate's husband (if the surrogate is married), the egg donor (if known), and the sperm donor (if known). We also help obtain pre-birth orders that result in the surrogate's voluntary relinquishment of parental rights to the child before the child is born.

Surrogacy and Adoption

Having a child through a surrogate or carrier is an alternative to infertility treatment or adoption. Surrogacy has made the dream of having children possible for those who are infertile, unable to become pregnant, or unable to carry a child to term. For more information about the legal aspects of surrogacy, contact a Connecticut surrogacy attorney to schedule a consultation.
